The VA Volunteer

When the wars are over

And our vets return home;

There’s someone there

So they won’t be alone!

Someone who cares

And travels many miles;

To make sure veterans’ faces

Are filled with smiles!

They work long hours

And won’t accept pay.

Why do they do this?

I guess it’s their way!

They’re young, they’re old;

With hearts of gold,

And under pressure,

They never fold!

So kind, and so sweet,

They really are;

Not quite the ordinary people.

But truly superstars!

Around the country

They can be found;

At the nearest VA facility,

Just look around!

So, who are these people

Who show care with no fear?

ft’s the one with the warm smile,

The VA Volunteer!!
